Australian Care Labelling

a. Washing temperature (cold, warm, hot, very hot, boil).
b. Agitation (hand wash, short machine wash, gentle machine wash, machine wash).
** Where appropriate, phrases stating washing temperature and agitation may be combined to form a concise phrase, e.g. warm hand wash, hot machine wash.
c. Drying method (tumble dry - cold/warm/hot, dry flat, drip dry, hang dry).
d. Bleaching instruction (chlorine bleached, only non-chlorine bleach).
e. Ironing (cool, warm, medium hot, hot steam, do not iron).
f. Drycleaning expressed in symbols:

Dryclean in any solvent normally used for drycleaning.
Dryclean in perchloroethylene, white spirit or fluorocarbons as normally used in drycleaning.
Dryclean in accordance withbut with restricted water amount and mechanical action
Dryclean in white spirit of Trichloro-fluoroethane.
Dryclean in accordance with but with restricted water amount of mechanical action.
Do not dryclean.
These symbols are to be used in conjunction with the phrase (Drycleanable/Dryclean only/ Drycleaning recommended).

*Note: where no specified or prohibited drying and/or ironing instruction are necessary for proper care, no special instruction is required.

Guidelines of attaching label:
1. Position of label attaching must be "clearly visible" or "accessible".

2. For articles which are packaged, displayed or folded in such a way that the information is inaccessible, an extra care label must be give on a wing ticket or adhesive label, or in a pamphlet accompany the articles.

3. For label sewn in more than one side, the label shall have similar shrinkage characteristic to the base fabric.

4. For adhesive label, it should not produce any bubbling or delaminating when the garment is subject to cleansing trestment.
